Built From the Surface Up.
At The Painters Custom Finishes, new construction painting is about more than adding color to fresh walls. Our process is designed to coordinate with the construction schedule, prepare new surfaces properly, apply the right primers and coatings, and deliver a clean, professional finish across walls, ceilings, trim, doors, cabinetry, and exterior surfaces.
We begin by reviewing the size and scope of the project, interior and exterior surfaces, desired colors, finish levels, specialty areas, and scheduling requirements. Because new construction often involves multiple trades working toward the same completion date, establishing expectations early helps keep the painting phase organized and efficient.
We help establish colors, sheens, primers, and coating types before application begins. Flat, matte, eggshell, satin, semi-gloss, and specialty finishes all perform differently, so selections are based on appearance, durability, lighting, surface type, and how each space will be used.
New surfaces are not always paint-ready. We inspect drywall, trim, doors, woodwork, masonry, and other materials for seams, rough spots, fastener areas, dust, construction residue, and imperfections. Floors, windows, fixtures, hardware, and completed surfaces are protected while each area is cleaned and prepared for proper coating adhesion.
Fresh drywall, bare wood, repaired areas, and other porous or untreated materials are primed as needed before finish coats are applied. The correct primer helps create more uniform absorption, promotes adhesion, and prepares each substrate for a smoother and more consistent finished appearance.
Once surfaces are properly prepared and primed, we apply coatings using brush, roller, spray, or a combination of methods based on the surface and finish requirements. Walls, ceilings, trim, doors, cabinetry, and exterior areas are completed with close attention to coverage, consistency, clean transitions, and durable protection.
After the major painting is complete, we inspect edges, transitions, trim, doors, coverage, sheen, and other visible details for touch-ups. We then review the completed work as a whole to make sure the paintwork complements the surrounding construction and delivers the clean, polished finish expected from a brand-new property.
